Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): Paula Shurruck RN
Contact us about a treatment
When I first started working in the aesthetic industry I was very concerned that my nursing skills would not be stretched enough i.e. I am a nurse and I would become bored...how wrong I was! After 8 years of practicing here at MBNS clinic in Thame, I feel just as excited and inspired by the treatment results achieved using Intense Pulse Light for permanent hair reduction and skin rejuvenation as I did at the beginning. My clients, men and women, who are dealing on a day to day basis with unwanted hair, feel liberated by great reduction of their hair. Before anyone starts treatment they are given a detailed consultation, then a treatment plan is arranged, usually 6 to 8 treatments at 6 weekly intervals for the face and 12 weekly intervals for body hair removal treatments. A maintenance programme is required for those clients who have excess hair due to hormonal imbalance. The nurse in me loves the combination of light heat science and Mother Nature in the gradual and permanent reduction of hair follicles, thus leading inevitably to a greater self esteem. We can treat a variety of hair and skin colours (sadly though and there has to be pigment in the hair for it to respond) and very importantly the skin must be without a suntan to receive IPL treatments. Clients are able to proceed with treatment as soon as they desire (we are however, unable to treat pregnant ladies or those taking St John’s Wort). IPL for Skin Rejuvenation IPL has a wonderful range of rejuvenating
possibilities. This light/heat science
can clot those nasty red veins that
are so telling to the cheeks and nose.
Over a period of time, a clearer skin
can be achieved as pigment is faded
and collagen stimulated, leading to
a more youthful complexion. Treatment
is taken once a month for three to
five months to reduce the signs of
the aging process. A detailed consultation
with one of our Aesthetic Nurse Specialists
gives you all the education you need
to invest in your skin. For those
clients suffering from self limiting
skin conditions such as acne and rosacea,
IPL can help them to take control of
their complexion, which in turn evokes
a massive boost to their self confidence,
always a feel good factor! IPL combined
with a personalised medical skin care
regime is often the first step to unveiling
a fresher brighter skin. |
